This article analyzes changes in the mythological field of public conciseness and the influence of new myths on cultural texts. The representation of a new hero is appearing gradually, but very confidently, in the center of the new mythology while the opposition of good and evil is disappearing and an intensification of ethical ambivalence. Authors and film directors have become advocates of characters who previously held evildoer positions, justifying their actions with external circumstances, strong emotions, or simply taking the side of the characters. Pollischuk draws on the examples of the screen version of the Nabokov’s novel "Lolita", "The Collector" by Fowles, as well as books and films about vampires and other "unpeople". Pollischuk analyzes many well known films and asks why the focus of attention has shifted in the opposition of good and evil.
